Telehealth consultations are not for medical emergencies - in an emergency call 10177 or go to your nearest emergency department.
Questions
- Who is a consultation for?
- Adults living with overweight or obesity who want a medical assessment, people struggling with weight regain, patients considering or already taking GLP-1 medication, and people with weight gain related to HIV treatment or other medications.
- How does the visit work?
- Consultations are held by secure video or in person at the Cape Town practice. Once your booking is confirmed you receive an email with your booking reference and, for video visits, the video link. Please have recent bloods, a current medication list and a recent weight ready.
- Is a consultation right for me?

- Can Dr Chandiwana prescribe medication?
- Where clinically appropriate, yes. Prescriptions are issued in line with South African regulations after a full assessment, and are sent to a pharmacy of your choice.
- What if I need to reschedule?
- Email us at least 24 hours before your appointment and we will move your booking to the next available slot at no extra cost.
