Secure video visits follow HPCSA telehealth guidelines. If I believe you need a physical examination or urgent care, I will explain the next step and help direct you to in-person care. Video consultations are not for medical emergencies. In an emergency call 10177 or go to your nearest emergency department.
Questions
- Who is a consultation for?
- Adults living with overweight or obesity who want a medical assessment. This includes people dealing with weight regain, considering GLP-1 medicine, or gaining weight after HIV treatment or other medicines.
- How does the visit work?
- Consultations take place by secure video or in person at the Cape Town practice. After booking, you receive a reference and, for video visits, a secure link. Please have recent blood results, a list of your medicines, and a recent weight ready.
- Is a consultation right for me?
- Video visits suit most obesity medicine assessments. If I believe you need an examination or urgent care, I will explain the next step and help direct you to in-person care. Video consultations are not for medical emergencies.
- Can I receive a prescription?
- Yes, when it is medically safe and suitable. I prescribe only after a full assessment and in line with South African rules. The prescription is sent to a pharmacy of your choice.
- What if I need to reschedule?
- Email the practice at least 24 hours before your appointment. We will move your booking to the next available time at no extra cost.
